Sometimes referred to as 'spats', these reproduction parts are produced in ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) which offers extraordinary UV and temperature resistance with ABS like impact resistance and durability.

  • The AU Things 'Premium' version has a finely textured finish as per the original part.
  • The AU Things 'Standard' version has a smooth finish, unlike the original part.
  • The AU Things 'Almost Premium', when available, have the same finish as the Premium option but have some minor imperfections.

Each pair takes 8 hours to manufacture then another 12 hours of annealing at 90°C to ensure that the quoted mechanical properties are realised.

The Premium and Premium Seconds versions are then hand finished on the outer edge to achieve the OEM like smooth finish to complement the textured upper and lower surfaces. Lastly, all versions are coated with Solution Finish™, for additional UV protection, and then dressed with CarPo Perl - not because they need it, but because I'm a detailing nerd and coating pristine new surfaces is too good an opportunity to pass up.

  • two plastic push rivets - one to hold each moulding in position during installation
  • The 'Almost Premium' option closeup photo represents a worst-case scenario - the supplied part will be at least as good as what you see in the photo. ASA is a challenging material to work with!
