AU Front Premium Brakes - Retrofit Kit

Sourced from the Powerstop (Illinois, USA), these new calipers are an aftermarket version of the PBR C4 caliper originally developed for the 4th generation Corvette (38mm pistons). Ford USA later adopted them for the 1994 Mustang SVT Cobra (38mm pistons). Tickford specified 40.5mm pistons and fitted them to the EL GT and T-Series.  They were also available on later AU XR's via the 'premium brakes' option.

This kit does not include rotors. We can't possibly compete with the big retailers that you'll find on eBay. You should find them priced from around $250 delivered. Part numbers for rotors are at end of this listing (V-Max have some great looking options).

This is an OEM spec kit that are a great looking and great performing upgrade. A dressed pad option will soon be sold separately here on AU Things and, if you add them to your order, pads will arrive to you preinstalled.

The red option is clear coated and carefully oven-cured at 100°C. The wing decals, reproducing the Tickford factory markings, are applied to the Powerstop caliper after the first of three clear coat layers.

Minimum of 17" wheels required.

Powerstop use 40.5mm steel pistons in these calipers.

Suitable for AU2/AU3 stub axles only, will not on AU1.

Professional fitting is recommended. Unlike most AU brake upgrade options, this kit has an identical specification to the ADR approved factory brake option offered on the AU, so there should be no need for an engineering certificate. However, we recommend that you seek advice from an experienced automotive engineer to confirm.
